The 2008 Summit Racing Equipment Pro-Am racing season for Division 9 Raiders will begin at Steve Earwood’s historic Rockingham Dragway Feb. 29-March 2. It will close at Kinston Dragstrip Sept. 26-28. In between will be three additional stops throughout the Carolinas , with races at Farmington Dragway (March 14-16), Mooresville Dragway (March 28-30) and Piedmont Dragway (June 6-8).
The format of all Raiders Division Summit Pro-Am Events will be as follows: Friday will be the move in and tech inspection day. Saturday will consist of qualifying in addition to the facilities bonus events on contested Saturday night. Sunday is reserved for Summit Pro-Am Eliminations.
"Historically, this division has had the highest participation rate along with the most consistent facility locations on the Pro Am Tour. A format consisting of a strong Saturday night program and geographic location of the facilities make this division an attractive option for our regional competitors in the raiders division," stated Mike Baker, IHRA Director of Competition.
