Last time out Rickie Smith and K.A. Balooshi took down the blower cars at the new drag racing track in Qatar. Smith and Balooshi put a stop to the fast and furious blower cars at the beginning of February and saw no reason to let up this past weekend as the series ran in Bahrian.
Smith has been to the Bahrain International Circuit numerous times over the years and it showed last week. Smith and Balooshi had to run against both of Popeye Racing’s dominate cars on raceday. Beating their nitrous car first round with a 6.14 et and then their blower car second round (finals) with a 6.11 et.
“It’s a lot of fun over here,” said Smith. “We came in not really knowing what to expect. These blower cars have been killing the whole field over here, so we knew we had to have our Al Anabi Racing Nitrous car up to par in order to win again. I have got to thank Chad, Reuben and Jimmy. They worked their butts off and without them this wouldn’t have been possible.”
Smith and Balooshi have proven to be the dominating force over the last month in Qatar and Bahrain. This twosome will come together again at the Bahrain International Circuit the third weekend in March.
Until then you can catch Smith behind the wheel of his new Jerry Bickel Chevrolet Camaro; that he hasn’t even tested yet, at the ADRL Houston Race this weekend at the NHRA GatorNationals the next weekend.
