Very interesting news. So it sounds like Josh Hart is not bringing a big sponsor with him to JFR? Is he funding the ride with is own (very substantial, from what we have read) funds?

In the articles about Josh's moves, he states that there is more news to come.
 
that article stated R&L was looking to expand their nhra program. IMO the expanded hospitality agreement between
elite and tsr already paying dividends. in fact, it wouldn't surprise me if this R&L deal started with talks about this expanded hospitality program a while ago.
the elite/tsr alliance was announced first, then tony driving the elite TF'r was announced, then the josh/jfr deal was announced, then mike green
was announced, then R&L with elite/tsr expanding their program. each announcement was a few days apart from the others. good planning.

I'll bet it won't be too long before NHRA gets their hands into R&L's pockets and makes them THE OFFICIAL freight carrier!

....... in all seriousness, i would think this is really great news that r&l wants to grow their nhra program. from what i have heard
from good sources, truck driving as a career is in a bad spot right now. nobody wants to work, much less stay working in this field,
and this country needs freight haulers. pretty sure r&l has been in nascar before, not sure if other racing forms.
i wonder if they will use the hospitality as a recruiting tool?

IMO this expansion of elite and tsr, along with all their partners old, new, and future, will bring about
a change in how we consume drag racing. other than their pit area may look different, i have a feeling there will be more,
and no clue what more will look like. i'm very optimistic. even though a little luck may have fallen our way two weekends
ago with those huge TV numbers from texas, i don't think it's a complete fluke.

What’s the difference?
A shortage of drivers affects every carrier, whether it’s because of low pay, or being away from home.
A driver can quit a carrier in the morning and have a job at another carrier that same day.

much less the traffic, ignorant 4 wheeler, computer logging and speed limiters

When I retired from my job of 42 years, not a truck driver, I worked for an electrical utility, and we had the big trucks, I went to the DPS to downgrade my CDL to just a normal DL. When the first person looked at the paperwork saying what I was there for, dropping my CDL, he said are you crazy, do you know how hard the CDL is to get? I told him I don’t know, I had mine forever. He said you should keep it. When I got inside and actually went to the booth to change the CDL, the lady basically looked at me like I was crazy! To make a long story short I ended up keeping it. It costs more, my former company always paid for the renewal. The bad thing about a CDL is if you get a moving violation, you can’t take defensive driving or anything else. You pretty much have to get an attorney to try and get out of the violation. Also you have random drug tests. I think years ago when that random testing law came into effect, companies lost drivers.

This is a big one, in many industries. In the automotive repair industry, auto body and mechanical, they constantly whine about not being able to get technicians. The pay just isn’t there, they want you to have tens of thousands of dollars of tools, and certifications, and to expose yourself to cancer causing chemicals all day everyday for peanuts. I was working for a local shop that got bought by Gerber collision and it turned into a fiasco. The corporate takeover of everything is not enhancing things.
