Today, Annette Funicello a friend of the drag racing community from the early 1960's passed away. For those not old enough after leaving Disney's Mickey Mouse Club she starred in many feature films featuring the drag racing and the California Scene. She also recorded a number of hit records including this drag racing tune, Draggin' USA - Annette - YouTube

Very sad news......what a gal........ did you know She and Ivo were on the Mickey Mouse Club together........

Annette will be sorley missed by all.
 
Awww dang it. She was an absolute sweetheart.

Strange, just last week I was correcting someone who was mistaking her for the antithesis of Annette, Anita Bryant. That discussion went on at length as we either remembered her, or talked about the movies she was in...I think someone jumped up and started dancing. Sad to hear the news.
