Quick exit for Todd

Las Vegas, Nov. 2 -- The Lucas Oil Fuel Treatment team with Top Fuel driver, J.R. Todd behind the wheel was defeated in the first round of competition at the eighth annual ACDelco Las Vegas Nationals by Australian, David Grubnic.
Todd left the starting line slightly pulling away when his dragster stumbled for just a moment causing the Lawrenceburg, Ind., native to backpedal and that was all his opponent needed to reach the finish-line first.
He ran a time of 4.068 seconds, 307.65 mph to Grubnic’s triumphant time of 3.976 seconds, 297.81 mph.
Todd qualified in the No. 7 position in the elite Top Fuel field after recording a time of 3.864 seconds along with a speed of 313.37 mph.
After the completion of 23 of 24 NHRA National events, Todd remains in the No. 11 slot with 948 points in the NHRA Top Fuel points standings.
