Congratulations to both Morgan Lucas/Geico T/F team and Shawn Langdon and the Lucas team. Great way to start the season. It's Shawn's turn next!

Great way to start the season for MLR. I was hoping Shawn would get his 1st one, but oh well. I am sure its going to come this year for him.

Waiting for the first "team orders" post to hit.

Well, Shawn did make a hard left off the starting line. ;)

Seriously, though, congratulations to the Lucas organization. I've always like Morgan. He's always struck me as an intelligent, articulate and polite young man.

Did Morgan mention that his dad wasn't there? Seems like the first win he got his dad was also not at the track. Poor guy misses all the fun.

was also happy to see both lucas cars in final (almost got it rite with
langdon prediction to win :)), but luck definitely played a part in their
being there yesterday......hope they do it again on performance.
nice run by geico car in final.

Happy for Morgan and for Dickie Venables too. Only his third race ever as a TF crew chief and he snags a Wally. Tell Shawn to keep his head up, his day is coming.

Couldn't agree more Ma.... With all the focus being on Al Anabi vs. DSR, to have the MLR TEAM in the finals, was a sight for sore eyes!

Nice to see someone else win for a change. I also enjoyed the tech segment Mike Dunn and Dickie V did on ignitions.

Very happy for Dickie V!

And to sum up Morgan's weekend: The kid wasn't in the field after Thursday. Friday action cancelled. So he went to bed Friday night with a forecast of RAIN RAIN RAIN and not knowing if he'd get a shot to make it. Things come together and he's in the winner's circle.

Awesome!

lucas cattle co. sponsorship on theil's fc..........cow's in
hospitality area.........just a thought.
unlike rockstar girls of former year, they wouldn't roam the pits;
fenced in their own 'paddock' area.
why wouldn't this be a huge fan draw? cattle is a huge business.

I think the NHRA is still a little pissed about the last funny car associated with cows. :D

Brent Fannings 'cow' themed car made it into Sports Illustrated in 1994---with the starting line antic during the US Nats. The writers over there loved that team from Texas. SI made no mention of any drag race teams for years until then.....and very few make it in their publication.
