With Greg Anderson and Vincent Nobile both being rather obvious in their attempts to qualify in the bottom of the field, I ask how is this any better than a team mate taking a dive....food for thought and discussion!

Strategy and diving are not in the same league to my mind. They would still have to beat Erica for it to make any difference. As she is currently sitting number two, that would not be an easy task.

But they are shutting off early and not qualifying to their true potential aka sandbagging. How is this different? Personally i'd like to see their "strategy" backfire and both get bumped out of the field.

If you are more than 20 pts behind, it does no good to meet #1 in the final. Yer only chance is to try to meet early, then you still have to beat #1.
Nothin wrong with sandbagging in "Q". It's called "strategy". No different than walking a batter, or spiking a foot ball. (imo)

It could be viewed as manipulating the ladder ... that is not strategy.

However, after Q3 ... Its Nobile vs. Line and Enders vs. Anderson. You couldn't write it up more perfect than that.

Looks like team orders have changed, as both Anderson and Nobel pick up a bunch in session four!

If Line and Anderson both win R1, they face each other in R2. Darnit. I had my tin foil hat on, too.

If that happens, y'all will get to see that dive you've been talking about, and Team Summit will hoist the Championship trophy. Enders just needs to put Anderson out, and she can, as long as she doesn't get in her head and cause her to redlight. I wouldn't bet 5 cents against that happening.

After qualifying, all the Summit cars are in the top half ... Line cannot face Enders until the Final. Imagine that drama, they are currently separated by 19 points going into eliminations. Could be one run for all the marbles in the Final.

Line might have 2 freebies if Greg (R2) and Vincent (Semi) can stay in that long.

Could be the excitement Pro Stock needs to finish out the year.

Or Connolly, If Line Vs Connolly happens, will Dave give Jason a freebie to stick it to EE? I hope Dave doesn't but it wouldn't surprise me if he does something to help Jason.

Anderson isn't going to have to take a dive Lines car has been faster for a couple of years now

In the interest of being fair, EE is facing Morgan in R1. Should she advance she gets the winner of the Allen Johnson vs. Rodger Brogdon pairing. Would AJ give EE a freebie out of friendship? Or, would EE get a freebie from Brogdon for that Elite power?

If Erica and Greg race tomorrow it automatically means she is the 2014 Champion. From a Championship perspective, there's no point in worrying about a potential Greg vs. Erica pairing.

Elite might just have to take their motor back. :) Rickie Jones knows how that feels.. when he used Larry Morgan Mopar power and made it to the Las Vegas finals against.. Larry Morgan. Kinda funny how that all comes full circle.

nope, it was Morgan. I thought it was kinda cheesy that larry actually took his motor back, but a deal is a deal and a national event win is hard to come by.

I thought the strategy they were trying to play out was very fair and smart. They just wanted a chance at taking Erica out in an earlier round, not that either car would have done it. That Elite car (and Erica) was set on kill the last couple of weeks. When Greg moved up the ladder so that he didn't have to throw the race to Line in the first round, that gained all the respect in the world.
