The Pro Slammers Door Car Association based on the West Coast will host its season opener this weekend. The event scheduled for April 2, 2011 will be held at Famoso Raceway, Bakersfield, which is the home of the famous March Meet and Hot Rod Reunion. Both classes, 7.00 Pro Slammers & 7.60 Slammers will be contested in conjunction with the Summit ET Series which will give the race fans some really good, all day racing. This is the second year for the fast growing association and it should be a good one as many new teams have already signed up.
Last season Bruce Sanders won the first and the last event of the season while the president of the association Mike Doushgouian won the Championship. A lot of teams will be there this weekend especially since there is an all new concrete surface on the entire track. Some of the best drivers on the West Coast will be there, guys like Sam Blaylock, Justin Wake, John Durden, Wayne Schott, and the "Big Dog" Mike Henry just to name a few. Teams have stepped their programs up over the winter and are ready to do battle this weekend. Some teams have went from the 7.60 Slammers to the 7.00 Pro Slammers which is always great. Others have come from different organizations just to be a part of this fast growing racing association.
The second Pro Slammers event will be at Sacramento Raceway on April 15-16 for their annual race, Funny Car Fever. For more information please visit PSDCA
