CAYUGA, ONTARIO (September 11, 2011) – Winners in the fourth and fifth races in the Pro Modified Racing Association, the Quick 32 Sportsman Series, and the Pro Bike & Sled Series were declared yesterday at the Cayuga Dragway of Toronto Motorsports Park.

Along with completing these postponed races in the three drag race series, qualifying rounds for the sixth and final event of 2011 took place at the Kohler Road strip.

The postponed fourth race in the PMRA was taken by Eric Latino of Whitby, Ontario, who took the win over Jeff Roth of Kitchener, Ontario. The win was Latino’s second of the season in Pro Modified competition. The final round in the fifth PMRA race will be run during Sunday’s racing.

Also taking his second win of the year was Phil Sampson of Granton, Ontario. The Top Sportsman driver in the Quick 32 Sportsman Series presented by NAPA Auto Parts ran a solid set of laps to take top honors in the series’ fifth event. The win also solidified the championship for the Chevy Cavalier driver, who had a slight lead in the points battle before this race. Sampson beat Top Dragster driver Jeff Moser of Waterloo, Ontario, in the final. Sampson eliminated Kevin Wicke of Stratford, Ontario in the Top Sportsman final, and Moser beat Bill White of Gadshill, Ontario in the Top Dragster final.

Moser defeated Wicke for the Quick 32 Sportsman Series run-off from the postponed Stratford Day Spectacular event August 6 at Grand Bend, giving Moser his first Quick 32 Sportsman Series victory.

Randy Hope of London, Ontario all but secured his championship in the PBSS with a win over Josie Brooks. Hope rides a Kawasaki and his win in this fifth event of the PBSS inaugural season has given him a strong points lead.

Going into the season-ending sixth race Sunday, Bruce Boland of Stoney Creek, Ontario leads the PMRA after qualifying number one with a 6.000, followed by Vito Montesano of Maple, Ontario, with a 6.044, and Roth, who posted a 6.066.
