GRAND BEND, ONTARIO (September 4, 2010) – Events in the Pro Modified Racing Association and Quick 32 Sportsman Series were delayed by rain during the final events for the two drag racing series at the Grand Bend Motorplex in Grand Bend, Ontario.
Highlighting the Teamsters Union “Thunder by the Beach” weekend at Grand Bend, the PMRA and Quick 32 Sportsman Series were originally scheduled to finish their previous elimination rounds, delayed from the previous race in August, and then continue with round five in the PMRA series and round six in the Quick 32 Sportsman Series.
Rain throughout the day and high winds forced officials to cancel today’s session, and all racing will be held Sunday, September 5, beginning at 11:00 a.m.
At present, there is a tight points battle for the championship in both series, and the 2010 tour winners will be decided after these final rounds of racing. Mike Stawicki of Medina, NY, leads the PMRA Pro Modifieds in the PMRA Championship Point Award Series presented by Magnum Auto Parts and Patio Passport, and Scott Wildgust of Wartburg, Ontario is leading in the Quick 32 Sportsman Series presented by NAPA Auto Parts.
The final rounds from the previous race in both series will be held Sunday, and then the teams will be back to qualify for the final event with elimination rounds after qualifying.
The Teamsters Union “Thunder by the Beach” will feature the popular Pro Modified Racing Association (PMRA), PMRA ~ Pro Modified Racing Association, and the Quick 32 Sportsman Series presented by NAPA Auto Parts, Quick 32 Sportsman Series, featuring Top Dragster and Top Sportsman action with quick six and seven-second cars.
