Penske Truck Leasing To Sponsor Pro Modified Class At Summit Racing Equipment Ohio Drags V
O’FALLON, MO (August 22, 2011) – The American Drag Racing League (ADRL) is set to work with global transportation provider Penske Truck Leasing for the second time during its successful 2011 season.
After Penske Truck Leasing served as the title sponsor for the ADRL’s first trip to Maple Grove Raceway in May, the world’s premier eighth-mile drag racing league is excited to announce that the partnership will continue with Penske Truck Leasing’s sponsorship of the Pro Modified class during the Summit Racing Equipment Ohio Drags V, which takes place on Sept. 23-24 at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio.
A strong relationship was formed between the two companies before the Penske Truck Leasing Inaugural Northeast Drags in May, and it has continued to prosper since then.
“We are thrilled to again be working with the ADRL after such a remarkable event at Maple Grove,” Penske Truck Leasing President and CEO Brian Hard said. “I was very impressed with the show they put on and how much they cater to their fans.
“It is a company that is organized and the entire team at the ADRL includes first-class people that we’ve enjoyed working with this year. We are excited to see the ADRL continue to grow with the addition of this Pro Modified class and it’s a thrill that we will be part of it in Norwalk.”
After a successful debut at the recent Speedtech U.S. Drags IV, the ADRL announced the return of Pro Modified racing for the final two events of 2011, which includes the Summit Racing Equipment Ohio Drags V.
The class will run eight-car qualifying field, with 12 participants invited to attend.
The winner in the class at each of the final two events will receive $5,000. The runner-up will earn $2,500, while semifinalists and first-round qualifiers will earn $1,500 and $1,000, respectively.
There will be a $250 entry fee for each Pro Modified car during these special invitational races. The inclusion of Pro Modified into the ADRL’s fast-paced program at the event, along with the class sponsorship from Penske Truck Leasing, sets up the possibility of the ADRL adding another class for its 2012 season.
“It is a huge deal for the ADRL to again be working with Penske Truck Leasing for what will be one of our biggest events of the year,” ADRL Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing Brian Evans said.
“We saw such a tremendous impact of working with such an established and successful company like Penske Truck Leasing for our first trip to the Northeast, and their sponsorship of Pro Modified for this race will give us a great opportunity to promote a class that has already received tremendous feedback in the ADRL.”
