Peggy Llewellyn ‘can’t wait’ to get back To The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway

A myriad of gaming establishments, swank hotels, posh eateries and four-star entertainment year-round doesn’t entice Peggy Llewellyn one iota when she visits Las Vegas .
“It’s one of my favorite cities and I really like to go there,” said Llewellyn, who has a Las Vegas business trip scheduled October 30-November 2 to ride the R2B2 Motors Pro Stock Motorcycle in NHRA’s ACDelco Las Vegas Nationals. “I’m not into gambling . . . but I do like to shop and I think they have a new mall there.”
Whereas browsing for new shoes purses and the like will consume some of her time, the San Antonio , Texas competitor is serious about racing. “I can’t wait to get back on the race track,” she said. “The Las Vegas track always has been one of my favorites, too.”
This event marks Llewellyn’s third 2008 race on the R2B2 Motors Buell prepared by Matt Guidera’s Mohegan Sun team. “It seems like it has been forever since I raced and I’m really looking forward to getting back on the track Friday,” she continued. “I have been so busy in my real estate job at home that racing this weekend will be somewhat therapeutic for me.”
After winning at Dallas and finishing fourth last year, Llewellyn has run a limited 2008 schedule. She qualified 14th at Indianapolis (U.S. Nationals) and 13th at Dallas , Sept. 21, her last event.
“I’m excited,” she said. “Matt worked on the motors and found more horsepower. Our goal is to qualify in the top half of the field . . . and win rounds on Sunday. A win there would be fantastic. Anything can happen in Las Vegas .”
Llewellyn also will be racing at the Automobile Club of Southern California Finals in Pomona , Nov. 13-16.
