Somehow I just now found out that OReiley is buying or has bought Checker, Shucks, Kragen & Murrays. Any news on how this will play into thier heavy NHRA involvement? They'd be crazy to make any alterations. One would assume and fully expect them to stay on with Worsham Racing too. I guess they're going to keep the brands seperate?

Our local Checker Auto manager told me yesterday that they wouldn't be switching for a year or so but that they would all eventually become O'Reiley named stores.
I took the opportunity to let him know that he needs to pass information on to the powers that be about our choice to shop there being dependant upon their continued support of the Worsham Family Racing. There's just too many options to pick one that doesn't care.

Doc, the store manager you talked to might be wrong from what we have heard out here in california. I am a store manager with Kragen now and we have been told we could start seeing the transisition as soon as july or august. We were also told the stores are all going to be O'reillys. We are having a meeing out here next thursday and I can up date you guys then. As far as the sponsorship of the worshams, I hope they do not let them go. Earlier in the year CSK let Joe Spica go he was the director of the company motorsports programs. So I guess we will see.

By the way here is the other CSK/Oreilly's thread O'Reillys to buy CSK Auto

Hope this helps,
Brandon

I also wonder about that. O'Reilly spends so much money putting their name on event sponsorship will they continue to sponsor a car? Our local Shuck's store here in my town is so bad I can't shop there. I try but it's staffed by the dumbest counter people I've ever come across. Unfortunately I have to rely on smarter people than I and these dummies can't do it. I hate to do it but Auto Zone and NAPA get most of my business.

The Kragen here in town is very bad, poorly trained staff, and never enough help. At work, we deal primarily with NAPA and a couple of other large independent parts suppliers, but occasionally I'll pop into Kragen for some car wash stuff or anything like that.

Maybe this is the kind of stuff that O'reillys will fix.

I'd hate to make my only auto parts store option Advance. Can't shop at Autozone, and there's no C,S, or K stores in my area. Napa is an option though....hmmm......
