Came across this video from 1964, a lot of footage from San Fernando, and Lions, and some other strips in So Cal, short only 5.48 min but worth a look.

Thank you for the video. Yes thoughs were "THE GOOD OLD DAYS" I am very glad I was part of the early days of Drag Racing, But I am also very glad they are gone. We were making changes to race car safety thoughs days only after the horse was out of the barn. being a member of the NHRA drivers Commission for 28 years I was given a accident report often of accidents across the nation and the causes. most racers had no clue of other accidents they only knew of the ones in there area or track. We were loosing so many racers in the early days in many classes so very often. I wish the information would have been given to the racers sooner than it was and it would have saved so many of our friends. but I think the powers to be didn't want the issues published.

WOW

I had to laugh....people today gripe about the crappy music people add to YT videos when we'd really just like to hear the cars. And whaddya know - 60 years ago people were adding crappy music to videos when we'd really just like to hear the cars. The more things change.....

I do appreciate the vintage footage. 👍

Video opens at San Fernando. I think Don Moody in far lane. I do remember the car, think it's Moody. I only miss San Fernando cuz of the memories. My first track I went to. Probably one of the more dangerous cuz of no guard rails, etc.
