Detroit, MI- August 3, 2006 – On Saturday, August 5, 2006, aspiring Top Fuel Funny Car driver Brian Olatunji and his Olaraceway.com / Von Dutch backed Chevy Monte Carlo, known as the ‘purple rocket’, will be the main attraction of the 1st Annual Greater St. Stevens Youth Empowerment car show. Held at 3952 Dickerson St. in Detroit, MI, this annual car show is used to bring Detroit’s youth together for an afternoon of fun in a safe environment as well as raise funding for the community center.
Seeing cool cars and the adult drivers who grew up in the same neighborhoods as them has given the youth inspiration in the past. “I want to make sure that I always give back to my community in anyway that I can. If I am an inspiration for even one child, that is very gratifying and worth wile of my attendance. Detroit is where I grew up and a piece of my heart will always be here,” Olatunji shared.
