Northeast Outlaw Pro Mods “1320 Pro Mod Warriors Series” Returns to Maryland International Raceway’s (MIR) “33rd Annual Mountain Motor Nationals May 13th-14th”
(5-4-2010) BUDDS CREEK, MD – The Northeast Outlaw Pro Mod Association season kicks off at MIR for the first of two appearances in 2011 for the world famous “Mountain Motor Nationals May 13th and 14th. This “Extreme Pro Mod Event“ featuring quarter mile drag racing with over 30 Pro Mod entries will consist of two classes, Blower/Turbo’s and Nitrous. These Pro Mods can cover the 1/4 mile in the high 5 second range at speeds approaching 240 mph. Also as a bonus race, 8 Car Shootout with the next 8 quickest non qualifiers. That’s 24 qualified Pro Mods at one event.
Last year’s event proved to be a huge success with the fans, and is one of the teams favorite track’s with gracious track hospitality, excellent track conditions and great supporting fans, and this year will be even bigger and better. With the growth of the series come more competitors and greater competition, and many of last year’s competitors stepped up their engine programs to try and dip into the fives, both on the nitrous/aspirated and blower/turbo side. See last year’s Champions Fredy Scriba and Steve King, fierce competitors Tim O’Hare, Pullin/Plummer Racing, Frank Patille, Gary Courtier to name a few.
Larry Plummer of the Pullen/Plummer Team states: "We ran a 5.95 at our MIR test and tune several weeks ago and look to go faster. Thanks to our great team Mark Pullen, Bruce and Dave along with Carl Spearing (ERD performance) we are now ready to take on the BIG GUYS……… Matt Deitsch said “we fixed the steering problem and made some corrections that will give the nitrous teams some tough competition.
The event is host not only to the NEOPMA, but also Mountain Motor Pro Stocks on the quarter mile, Top ET, Mod ET and Motorcycle ET, and Junior Dragsters
Pro Mods will have one test round on Friday at 7:00 PM, with first round qualifying at 9:00 PM. Saturday qualifying resumes at 1:00 PM, 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM. Eliminations start at 7:00 PM.
Admission: Fri $20 Sat $25 2-Day $40 • Kids 6-11 $5 per day
