[coverattach=1]Marc Hayes Wins Nitrous/Aspirated Pro Mod Class, and Tommy Gray and the Undertaker Team win The Blower/Turbo Pro Mod Class at the Northeast Outlaw Pro Mod’s Season Opener at VMP.

(4-18-2009) Petersburg, VA – The Northeast Outlaw Pro Mods season opener at Virginia Motorsports Park was a huge success with over 22 Pro Mods contesting Eight qualifying positions in each of the two classes.

Marc Hayes of Bowie, MD qualified number one with a 6.302 at 227.00, and defeated Rob Nicola in round one, Randall Hayes in round two, and club newcomer and VMP local Christy Perkinson in the finals in a pedal fest, 7.341 to a losing 7.636.

On the Blower Side, Tommy Gray and his Undertaker Team qualified number three with a 6.210 at 235.80, and defeated Chip King in round one, Tim O’Hare in round two, and Chris Russo in the finals with a 6.877 at 148.38. Chris shook the tires on the launch, and Tommy was straight down the groove, but slowed when something let loose in the motor around 900 feet out. “The facilities, staff, and management exceeded our expectations. The track was maintained perfectly, the staff was accommodating, and Bryan Pierce, General Manager and Marc Wesler, Race Operations Manager maintained a perfectly executed event, and we would like to thank all of our Teams, Drivers and Crew’s of the NEOPMA that showed up at VMP and put on a great event” said John Mazzorana, President of the Northeast Outlaw Pro Mod Association. Membership is rapidly growing this year.

“We also met with Nate Pritchett from the ever popular Pinks and the very successful 1320x.com series at the event to discuss possible exhibitions with our Pro Mods at several of his events this year, and a possible alliance next year” said Vito Micciolo of the NEOPMA.
