It’s amazing what taking a year off from Pro Stock racing and sharpening one’s skills in bracket racing will do for a driver. That’s exactly the pathway that Jeg Coughlin, Jr. took en route to winning a third NHRA Pro Stock world championship. Coughlin maintained a front-runner status throughout the season and solidly into the final phase of the NHRA’s Countdown to the Championship. During the last phase of the playoffs, Coughlin drove his way to a 7-1 win/loss record in competition.
Torco’s CompetitionPlus.com readers voted Coughlin into the lead the first day of voting for the Dot Com Awards and he never surrendered the top perch.
