NHRA MULTI-TEAM OWNER DON SCHUMACHER TO VISIT COCA-COLA 600

CHICAGO (May 23, 2008) - Don Schumacher, owner of the largest team in the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, with seven teams competing in three of four professional categories, will visit the prestigious Coca-Cola 600 this Sunday at Lowe's Motor Speedway in Charlotte, N.C.

Schumacher, whose teams have won 106 NHRA national events since 1999, and whose son Tony Schumacher is the five-time reigning Top Fuel champion, will be in the Charlotte area for business meetings. He will also visit the Lowe’s Motor Speedway media center when a group of NHRA drivers help promote the inaugural NHRA Carolinas Nationals at zMAX Dragway @ Concord, set for Sept. 11-14, the 19th of 24 events in the 2008 NHRA POWERade Series and the first event in the six-race Countdown to the Championship playoffs.

"This is an historic season for the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, with the introduction of an inaugural event at a brand-new facility developed by Bruton Smith and the announcement that Full Throttle will be the NHRA series sponsor in 2009," said Schumacher. "I'm honored to be at the Coca-Cola 600 as an NHRA team owner. Of course, I'm also eager to watch some excellent Sprint Cup competition.

"We at Don Schumacher Racing are proud to support the construction of this state-of-the art track in Concord and we look forward to a future of hugely successful professional NHRA events at this facility."

Schumacher will join his friends from NAPA Auto Parts, the sponsor of the DSR Funny Car driven by Ron Capps, in the NAPA suite at the event, rooting for Capps' NAPA teammate Michael Waltrip competing in the Coca-Cola 600.
