Capps and Sampey are the big losers as of now. Although Fuller is still right behind Dixon he still is taking a hosing by loosing 120 point lead.

OWWWW....

What is happening with Positions 9 and lower? Do they still obtain points? I was wondering this after Mel's win- how would that have placed her at year's end... now I know.. Talk about getting hosed ALLL season....

Nothing good will come of this....

It would be nice to see if NHRA is calculating this as well....
Maybe you should pass it along so we can get the message across ;)

Anybody notice that the funny car race would be closer under the old system.

Troxel losses year end money as she can not climb above 9 now.

Yes 9 on down still earns points the same as before. By moving the top 8 up to 2000 points starting at Indy it made the point gap from 9 on down to large for them to catch them, thus locking them out.

Jeggie sure picked a bad time to have a slump - he'd be third in the old points, but is fourth by less than a round in the new.

Points ??

Where's the point stat guy? I'm wonder what the point situation should actually be by the "old system" compared to the "chase" eerr the "clowndown" eerr the "countdown" ( yea that's it :p )

Thanks
Jon

Re: Points ??

Did anyone notice that they are now showing Dixon as having clinched a spot in the countdown to one?? I think that is different than what they were saying earlier.........

Dave Connolly could be making a run similar to what Cruz Pedregon did in 92, he would need Greg to go out early at least once and possibly twice to pass him out legitimately. Hot Rod wouldn't have had the championship locked up, but he would have had a seven round lead over Dixon with 12 rounds to go.

Chris
please post old style points so I can decide if I am excited about Dixon leading points (for now) and whether I should be concerned about all the points Dixon will lose when they reset................:D
