Next round for the PMRA, Quick 32 Sportsman Series,
and PBSS to be held during Grand Bend’s
Stratford Spectacular Hot August Nationals
Large car counts expected in round four of big drag racing weekend
CAYUGA, ONTARIO (July 18, 2011) – With three events completed so far this season, the Pro Modified Racing Association, the Quick 32 Sportsman Series, and the Pro Bike & Sled Series head west to the Grand Bend Motorplex for the Stratford Spectacular Hot August Nationals presented by Ideal Supply & NAPA Auto Parts.
This three-day event, to be held August 5-7, will be the fourth race in the six-race tour for each of the three series, and the first trip to Grand Bend for 2011.
Known as the “Stratford Days,” this event is very popular with the competitors, and large car counts are expected. This will be the 17th running of the event. Once again NAPA Auto Parts will be providing free tickets to the event through their stores.
Presently leading the PMRA Championship Point Award Series presented by Magnum Auto Parts and Patio Passport is Vito Montesano and his Camaro of Maple, Ontario with 817 points. Next is the Willys of Bruce Boland of Hamilton, Ontario with 811 points, and Eric Latino of Whitby, Ontario is third in his Camaro with 788 points.
Phil Sampson of Granton, Ontario leads the Quick 32 Sportsman Series presented by NAPA Auto Parts Championship Point Award Series Standings with 692 points in his Top Sportsman entry. Top Dragster driver Jamie Bridge of Napanee, Ontario is second with 651 points and another Top Sportsman driver, Darrin Grubb of Pine River, Ontario is third with 633 points.
Leading in the PBSS presented by Wiseco Performance Products Championship Point Award Series Standings is Pro Bike rider Randy Hope of London, Ontario with 677 points. James Miller of Orillia, Ontario and his Pro Sled are second with 658 points, and third is Pro Sled rider Dave Marshall of Prescott, Ontario with 640 points.
Qualifying for the PMRA, the Quick 32 Sportsman Series, and the PBSS will take place Friday and Saturday August 5-6, with eliminations scheduled to begin Sunday August 7. The weekend will also feature Top Fuel and Nostalgia Funny Cars, and Junior Dragsters. Canadian Ike Maier is expected to compete in the Paton Racing Top Fuel Dragster.
Complimentary spectator event tickets will still be available at Ideal Supply & NAPA Auto Parts locations across Ontario, at businesses in Stratford, or by contacting the Quick 32 Sportsman Series, the Pro Modified Racing Association or the Pro Bike & Sled Series.
General parking is $20 per car load and weekend camping is available.
