NORWALK, Ohio – The IHRA and New England Dragway announced today the track has entered into a multi-year extended sanctioning agreement.
Nestled between Boston and Concord, N.H., in the town of Epping, N.H., New England Dragway has been home to IHRA’s Amalie Oil North American Nationals since 1992. This year’s event will be held September 8 – 10.
“New England Dragway has had a long relationship with the IHRA,” said New England Dragway manager Larry Bean. “We’ve proudly hosted the North American Nationals since 1992 and look forward to presenting some of the world’s best drag racing to New England motorsports fans.”
New England Dragway Track Manager Joe Lombardo is excited about the new sanctioning agreement.
“New England Dragway will celebrate its 40th anniversary during the weekend of our Amalie Oil North American Nationals,” said Lombardo. “Most of our long time supporters know the track cut its teeth on nitro. With the addition of Nitro Funny Cars to the IHRA program I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate our 40th anniversary.”
“We’re thrilled to be able to renew and extend a contract with a premier racing facility that has been an IHRA stop for 15 years,” said IHRA President Aaron Polburn. “It’s great to see that level of commitment from one of our member tracks that is such an important factor to IHRA and the eMax Drag Racing Series.
“This contract extension guarantees IHRA’s presence in the New England market for many years to come,” added Polburn.
