Could someone please explain to me what is happening here. Go to Pro Record Holders the records stated here are for 1000 feet. Will the NHRA ever return to 1/4 mile racing????

Tony Schumacher set the NHRA Speed Record for Top Fuel in the 1/4 mile at 336.15 mph at the 2005 NHRA Pontiac Performance Nationals, National Trail Raceway, Ohio. He backed it up within 1%, and this record stands to this day - OR DOES IT - AS THE NHRA NATIONAL RECORDS SHOW SPEEDS/ETS FOR 1,000 FT??

Ya, current record holders in T/F and F/C are listed the same way in National Dragster - 1000 feet times and speeds. I would think - hope - NHRA still recognizes both formats, even though they publish only the current one...but can't say for certain whether or not they actually do.

There's lots of 1320 versus 1000 discussion going on right now. Can't say for certain how that'll shake out, either.
