[coverattach=1]O’FALLON, MO (Aug. 27, 2009) — The National Guard American Drag Racing League (ADRL) announced today it is moving its 2010 season-opening event at Houston Raceway Park to Mar. 12-13, 2010, from its original date in late-February.
“As always, our first consideration in making decisions is how they will affect our racers and in this case we received significant response from them with concerns over potential weather problems with our original date,” National Guard ADRL President and CEO Kenny Nowling said. “So, when Houston Raceway Park confirmed the date for its NHRA event next year, it allowed us to do what’s best for our ADRL race teams and fans, which is moving our ADRL Safety-Kleen Dragpalooza VI to Mar. 12-13.”
Houston Raceway Park General Manager Seth Angel is pleased to see the date change, too.
"We welcome this move and appreciate Kenny’s willingness to work with us on this,” Angel said. “The last two years of the ADRL at Houston Raceway Park have produced two of the biggest events in our track’s history, so we were very hesitant about initially changing the date of the event. Having it return to March is ideal and we look forward to welcoming all of the ADRL teams and their fans next spring.”
