Thanx Jenn, I made a real mess!
I hope I got it straightened out now.

Sorry to correct you but the winery has nothing to do with the curfew. The curfew and noise complaints have been around a lot longer than little section of vineyard. Though the owners of that vineyard may be new to the game.

The primary complainer is an elderly lady who has lived down the road for many years and has a particular grudge against drag racing. She along with another gentleman (using that term loosely) who moved into the area about 10 years have been the primary pains in the butt for Sears Point. I have it on good reference that Bruton Smith offer to buy their places for above market value, move them, and build them a new place... but both would rather be a torrential pain in the ass!!

The rest of the facility's neighbors are very supportive. But for some reason the Country Board of Supervisors has decided to side with the belly-achers.

A few years ago I was in the finals of the Helmet City Super Shootout against Jim Hughes at the divisional race. We were in a rush because of the 7 PM curfew. My timeslip showed that we ran the final at 7:06 PM. As I was in the tower collecting my money the phone rang and it was a County Supervisor calling to tell Georgia that they had gotten a call saying we ran after the curfew and that she has just used her "freebie" for the year.

Paul....I'll be happy to help next time if you want to put them all in one link. I usually imbed them in a thread once their hosted, but like with Bob, when there are this many it's easier for me to put them in an album. :)

What you stated is very true but the winery has had a relatively new owner 4years now and she doesn't like the track noise either! ;)
My cousin who I stay with in the area when the races come to town attended a lot of county board meetings so you can add another person to that pain in the butt list.

Bob,

I thought that was the case with the vineyard but didn't have the facts about the owner. It hasn't been there very long. It's just another case of a new owner knowing full well they are purchasing land adjacent to race facility and having buyers remorse! People like her should be run out of town on a rail.

The majority land owners in the area is a family that is fully supportive of the track/facility. They own most of the property north and west of the track and have been there for decades all the while being big race fans. I had the good fortune to meet one of the daughters a few years back and she, nor her family by her account, have anything nice to say about recent immigrants to the area that want to complain about the track.

I couldn't agree with you more Greg the track was actually there before the vineyard and yes the majority of the county fully supports the track and it's venues they realize how much money the track generates for the community and surrounding counties as well it's a win win situation all the way around. :)
What does the vineyard contribute to the community? I could answer that absolutely nothing although the property tax amount is above average at these property values!
