Most of Saturday Washed out; Full Day Sunday at ADRL Spring Drags

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (April 14, 2007) - Strong winds, rain, and the threat of lightning Saturday afternoon forced the Flowmaster American Drag Racing League to halt action at the second day of the Shelor.com Motor Mile Spring Drags at Montgomery Motorsports Park.

With Sunday's forecast looking more favorable, ADRL officials are hoping to complete the event with a full day of racing. The revised Sunday schedule calls for two rounds of qualifying for all of the professional classes, beginning at noon local time, followed by eliminations throughout the afternoon and evening.

In earlier action at the Spring Drags, eliminations for the rain-delayed ADRL World Finals were contested on Friday, with both the Pro Extreme and Pro Nitrous fields reduced to just their respective finalists. In Pro Extreme, Joshua Hernandez will face Dwayne Watkins for the title, while the Pro Nitrous field has been reduced to Harold Martin and Terry Housley. The World Finals were originally rained out last October, then delayed again when the ADRL's scheduled Winter Drags were postponed in February.

Three rounds of Pro Extreme Motorcycle qualifying have also been completed. The class is making its ADRL debut at the Shelor.com Motor Mile Spring Drags.
