It's almost time to head to The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway for "Mopars at The Strip", March 20-22. This is one of the very best Mopar events in the country and is a 'must' for every Mopar fan. I've worked this event in the past and can say with certainty that it's the best in the west. The race is exceptional...featuring the HEMI Super Stock Shootout (!), the Indy Cylinder Heads Quick 16, Nostalgia Super Stock, The New HEMI Challenge, Viper class, as well as traditional Super Pro, Pro, Slant Six, and Sports Compact classes.

The guest of honor this year is Chip Foose. Other noteables are Chris Jacobs from Overhaulin', Lou Santiago formerly of Spike TV as well as Duane Mayer from American Hot Rod.

Each evening there is a Mopar themed party at the Cannery Hotel & Casino featuring a courtyard display of select Mopars and an open air concert each night. The headliner this year is "World Classic Rockers", featuring former members of Lynyrd Skynrd, Toto, Steppenworld, Journey, Santana and Boston.

It's an awesome event and I hope you can make it. If you go this year I'm confident you'll never stop going in the future. Here's the link to all the information you'll need...

Wow, John, sounds like quite a shindig! I have been meaning to ask you if in your Mopar event travels, ever ran into Mike Jeffery and his slant six Valiant--it's called Buzzin' Half Dozen and was the first slant six in the 10s I believe. Mike is a long time friend and racing buddy of mine--quite a guy. He's racing a M/SA Diplomat (or Aspen or Volare or one of those body styles) with a slant six in it now and hitting all of the Div 5 races with it.

Absolutely! Mike is a great racer and his 225" slant six is a real crowd pleaser. The buzzzzz it makes is fantastic. I seem to see him wherever I go. The car name is fantastic..."Buzzin' Half Dozen"...:D

Mike and I go way back to our Super Stock touring days of the early and mid 70s--we've raced each other more times than I can count, He was the 273-340 guru of the Mopar Super Stock crowd at that time.

if i was in vegas id def go and see that, super stock hemis are bad azz!!!!!! then again if i was in vegas i wouldnt be looking out my window at 14 inches of snow we just got

Yes it's a great time, to just get out of the snow up here in Wyoming is good, but to get to race too, it's really a good trip, I'll be running my 64 Savoy in NSS.

Have not missed one yet...then again I live in Vegas...so there is no excuse.

Since I am currently retired/unemployed it should be easy to make all 3 days.

Watch for a special addition to Mopars at the Strip this year that'll be announced this week. BE THERE! ;)

Besides watching some HEMI Super Stockers together...let's get together for a few rounds of Pro Stock!!! You root for the Summit cars and I'll root for Roy & Allen. ;)
