GRAND BEND, ONTARIO (August 7, 2010) – Mike Stawicki continues to dominate in Pro Modified racing.

The Medina, NY driver of the G-Force Race Cars 1968 Firebird not only set the pace as top qualifier in the latest round of the Pro Modified Racing Association during the Stratford Spectacular Hot August Nationals presented by Ideal Supply & NAPA Auto Parts at the Grand Bend Motorplex, he once again broke the elapsed time record for the class in Canada.

On his third qualifying attempt in the Marydel Homes qualifying session, Stawicki posted a 5.739-second, 254.23-mph pass, which is the quickest Pro Modified pass in Canadian history. His time is only one one-thousandth of a second behind the all-time record of 5.738 seconds set by Scotty Cannon.

The event is the fourth in the 2010 PMRA tour.

Starting second in the eight-car field is Gary Irving of Toronto, Ontario, in the Al Hinds 2004 Corvette with a 6.097-second, 229.70-mph pass. Third was Bruce Boland of Hamilton, Ontario in his 1963 Corvette with a 6.131-second, 233.16-mph attempt.
