Elma, NY –As a "great" American President once said, "There's an ole saying in Tennessee I know it's in Texas probably in Tennessee. That says, "Fool me once shame on… shame on you… fool me, can't get fooled again". I guess that best describes the attitude of Mike Janis Racing heading into the Rocky Mountain Nationals in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
Flash back to 2003 when Janis would have earned his second IHRA Pro Modified World Championship had he just attended the Edmonton event. Fast forward to 2007 when it happened again! Had Janis made the nearly 4,500 mile round trip he'd be a four time IHRA Pro Modified World Championship, not a two time champ. With all of that behind the Janis team, they are ready more than ever for this event.
"It's going to be a long ride, but we are excited to race in front of all those great Edmonton fans! They make the whole trip worth the long drive. We're far better off now as far as points go than we were last season and the car is really coming around. Dan Page Race Cars has built us one heck of a car! Our problems this year have had nothing to do with "new car blues" it's just been small things that we think we've sorted out," said crew chief Mike Janis Jr.
Qualifying begins Friday with one afternoon session and one night session. Qualifying resumes Saturday with an the third round at 3 PM local time and the IHRA's World Famous Night of Fire starting at 7:30 Pm local time. Eliminations begin Sunday at 11 AM.
