Maybe AJ needs to switch to a Camaro or cash out

Well being Mopar is not backing a Pro Stock entry maybe the writing is on the wall for AJ, after all if you can't be competitive why compete. I am a true Mopar diehard and can be honest enough that without a lot of money for r&d it a losing proposition.

He'll win in Denver. Always does.

They need to rename the class P/S Camaro. It seems NHRA is trying their hardest to kill the class.

Mopar should b**tch to the NHRA (whatever good that will do) to handicap the Camaros like the NHRA did to the Hemi's in the early 70's. Make the Camaro's carry more weight just like they made the Hemi cars do.

PS motorcycle is a good example of playing the weight game.

After all, NHRA wants to put on a good show for the fans, don't they?

I've got to disagree. I've been a member of the "Mopar or no car" camp since the late '60s and absolutely hated the weight breaks given to the GM cars, saying the weight breaks are a recognition of mediocrity.
I don't want the Mopars to fall into that camp.
What's the answer to getting other makes involved? I don't know. But I do know if Mopar corporate doesn't get involved, forget about racers running Mopar power on their own. It's too expensive to go it alone.

Nothing like a class that will eventually have one manufacturer model a Camaro!
Boring! Time to bring up Pro Mods and drop Pro Stock program!

For me it's kind of like watching the old I ROCK Series from years ago with all the same cars.

Maybe that is the next step for the NHRA !!! Just have all the drivers show up and then give each one their car for the day and let them race.
Sure hope that's not the direct this classes is going in.

Is it really NHRA's fault the class has come to this? I mean I'm a Ford guy, but I don't ever remember Ford stepping up to be competitive. Any strides made in Pro/Stock were due to the racers, mainly Bob Glidden or in the early days, Jack Roush. Other top-shelf guys (Rickey Smith, Frank Iaconio, Larry Morgan, etc) ran Fords but weren't really successful and the common thread I hear is Ford didn't really care about or support the teams. I remember wandering the pits at Sears Point in the early '90's and seeing Warren Johnson's GM-sponsored setup, which was a real class organization that would rival anything today, then around the corner, there was Bob Glidden without even an awning to work under! WJ lost in the first round to someone I never heard of before or since, but he apparently had big dollars behind his operation, while Glidden operated on a comparative shoestring. It's always been that way, GM supports the racers when nobody else does. So my gripe is with the other manufacturers. Maybe NHRA could have made it more of a "stock-appearing" class to attract fans, but don't blame NHRA because it's a one-brand show. Just my opinion...

I'm glad you guys don't work for me. 1 race into the season and some of you are ready to throw in the towel.
Just my opinion.

Throw in the towel? How so? By thinking that having only one brand of car in a class is boring? I don't care who it is, hell let Kia field a pro stocker if it'll bring something new into the class. I really do try to look at the glass is half full side by looking past the sea of Camaros by looking at the guys driving and picking a hero out of that. But anyone who thinks the class as a whole is better off with one brand of car is missing the fun of picking a favorite. Let's suppose your a huge New York Yankees fan, would you watch them play themselves? It's happening in NHRA right now.

Jim,
I'm referring to the ones who say Allen Johnson needs to either get a Camaro or quit, or those who want to give a weight break. There are three dodges here and V Gaines is looking at coming back out. The class has always been GM heavy, but it's not 16 Camaros.

How would we know,NHRA doesnt show it on tv in qualfying except one run,LMAO

Alan we know you work for the NHRA so what your saying doesn't change what's happening to the class.
It's getting boring!
Pro Mod has a lot of diversity as far as cars and combinations.
Promoting that class is way overdue and a lot of the reason is Pro Stock!
How come there is only nine full entries for a 24 race season?
The class is slowly falling apart!
Take your corporate glasses off for a moment and you'll see a clearer picture!

It doesnt help when they dont get any coverage, hell i love pro stock

The fans don't seem to as interested could be the reason.
Pro Stock was once my favorite class but the lack of manufacturer interest is not helping.
9 full time teams for a 24 race season doesn't help.
