DULUTH, Ga./ STOW, Ohio- Matco Tools, one of the nation's leading manufacturer and distributors of quality professional automotive equipment, tools and toolboxes, is planning to fill a lucky Get Screened America Pro Mod Challenge driver's toolbox with a $25,000 check, series officials announced Thursday.
Beginning March 12-15 with the ACDelco NHRA Gatornationals, drivers will earn points for the $35,000 Matco Tools Pro Mod Clash -- a "race-within-a-race" which pits the top Get Screened America Pro Mods against each other with the chance to race for a $25,000 top prize.
"Matco Tools is very proud to be associated with this exciting class of racing," John Torok, Manager of Motorsports Marketing for Matco Tools, said. "Just like our Distributors are rewarded every day by outperforming their competition, Matco Tools will reward the Pro Mod teams that outperform the others in the class throughout the season."
The $35,000 Matco Tools Pro Mod Clash will be contested at the Las Vegas NHRA Nationals, October 29-November 1. The winner will receive $25,000, runner-up $5,000, and each of the semifinalists $2,500.
A random drawing will pair the top eight drivers after nine races in the Get Screened America Pro Mod Challenge presented by ProCare Rx, with lane choice going to the higher-qualified driver.
Series director Matthew Brammer said, "Having Matco join us with the Pro Mods is another great advancement for the class, and we're really anxious to work with John and the 1500 franchised Matco Distributors to introduce another level of excitement to their entire racing program.
