I watched the two parts of the first episode and this is what I came away with.

I like the concept and think you have an interesting hook to sell the show.

Then I watched and it was like a home movie, no emotion, no drama, no story line. And the music put me to sleep once.

I think the mics have to be better placed so that the voices come through more clearly and the background noise is muffled.

To make it more relevent, less shots with the stands empty. Frame the cars so that just cars, people and the track is shown.

Charactors need to be introduced and defined. Laurie and Dale just appear. Who are they? Why are they on screen? Etc.

Were you guys really satisfied with one car not qualifying and the other losing first round?

Make the good looking blonde chick the main attraction and put some fire into her role.

Again, my opinion is that you have a good concept, it just needs some meat in it to make the viewer look forward to the next episode. Attitude and sex sells.

This is my pc opinion, give me a call at my office if you would like to delve into it deeper. Make this thing work.

Thanks Virgil for taking the time to view/comment... :) We'll certainally do what we can.

Just the three of us and we are working with a very small Bloggie camera...so yes, the mic thing can become a problem. We learned that after Ep 1 (Yikes!) and the 30 MPH winds at Indy!

and lol....you have me rollin' after the blonde comment!!!!! ;)

Hope to give you more "meat" in coming episodes. :D

I am surprised by the lack of opinions being offered on your videos. Seems a lot of the Maters have very strong opinions about every least little thing, and now they are asked for and no one wants to respond.

Come on people, give Kathy some input.

This far I've only watched the trailer and first show. So I really enjoyed it and can look past the imperfections. The sound needs a tune-up as you already know. The track announcer was at least as loud and clearer as those in the show. While I enjoyed the concept and review of the runs and data I question what viewer you are seeking. If my wife who enjoys Drag Racing and Pro Mod in particular were to watch she probably would be board listening to the technical talk and you would lose a viewer. Language as simple as "add timing" and "fatten it up a bit" is Greek to people aren't gear heads. But this all depends on the audience you are seeking. In the beginning you might want to explain the difference between the classes that the two of you are running so your viewer will for one understand why the .90 car appears to run like a station wagon to the 330 as well as the objective and end result you are striving for. Again, for me, love love love it!!!

If this helps, prior to viewing, here was the PR on the "series":

“Married With Dragsters” Series Set to Premiere Mid-April

In an ongoing effort to reach out and expose new demographics to all that sportsman drag racing has to offer, Team Dragon Racing Fuels members Kathy (Kati) and Kevin Fisher have developed a new video series that will take the viewers behind the scenes during the team’s 2011 season.

“Married With Dragsters” (Team Dragon Racing Fuels - Married With Dragsters!) will take viewers along to not only each of the team’s events, but what it takes to get there. The series will highlight the stick-to-itiveness needed when you have a husband and wife competing together at this level of drag racing. From the
duties at the home office and shop to the sometimes very long hours on the road, and of course the racing itself, viewers will see there is a lot more to it all than what first meets the eye.

Team Dragon Racing Fuels (Team Dragon Racing Fuels - Performance by Fisher Racing - Lima, Ohio) is based in Lima, Ohio and consists of a two car sportsman team that includes a Top Dragster driven by Kevin Fisher and the 8.90 index dragster which Kathy competes in. While the “Married With Dragsters” series will concentrate mainly on the classes the team contests in, as the season progresses all other NHRA/IHRA sportsman classes will be touched on as well, giving the viewers a chance to see that in drag racing there is truly something for everyone.

“I guess you could look at this series as a little reality, a little documentary with a little ‘how-to’ all wrapped up into one,” said Kathy, who also doubles as TV talent from time-to-time on Fox Sports Net in addition to her work with Frank Hawley’s Drag Racing School. “We felt the need to do our part to help promote sportsman drag racing and hopefully have a ton of fun with it all at the same time. If nothing else, we hope to gain a few more fans for the sport.”

Each episode of “Married With Dragsters” will be posted on YouTube with hopes that a minimum of two new episodes will be produced each month and will vary in length from ten to fifteen minutes.

“We would like to do our best to get a little something up for each event,” she noted. “So some episodes, if you will, will be a little longer than others.”

“As we go along, you never know where this series may go,” she said of the video content. “The nice thing is we aren’t stuck to a script or anything of that nature. We all know drag racing isn’t [scripted] and this series certainly won’t be any different.”

I enjoy watching the show. It's much closer to what we go through with my dragster. Most racing shows tend to be focused only on the high dollar pro cars. I enjoy those shows but I personally can't relate to that caliber of racing.
Coinicidentally, I bought a used wing for my dragster this winter and it had Dragon Racing Fuel decals on it. They were so cool looking, I left them on there. Now I need to start using their fuel.
Looking forward to watching new episodes.

aside from technical issues as some have mentioned, i enjoyed watching.
i think it provideds the casual fan insight into the endless variables that
arrise for every racer, regardless of class, and how they effect their runs

I think I know where that wing came from...lol

Hi Guys, The main suggestion I have is to take the first episode off you-tube. The tech problems(sound etc) are so bad that I doubt that anyone would stick with watching the series, past that point. I just about stopped watching myself, a few minutes in, waiting for it to improve, and it didn't. Someone else mentioned about getting too technical with explaining tune-ups etc., I agree because the only folks that would be interested in that dialogue would be other "Super" racers. I could definitely see the improvements with the later episodes, as you all started to relax a little bit. The music was better in the later episodes as well.(although the "fuzz" guitar opening riff is still a bit annoying). Stay with it and let your audience learn more about who Kathy and Kevin really are as people, get them invested and caring about you, and you will keep your audience interested in what you do next.
Hopefully my comments are constructive and not hurtful, as I certainly would love to see your project succeed.

Thanks! :) Although...we don't run just Index Classes...that's only one of our cars. Top Dragster, too.

For the longest while, my impoverished brain thought the title was "Married with daughters". Dragsters didn't click till today.

I have to admit, I stopped watching the vid due to this.
I will try the other vids soon.

*Edit: OK! I watched the other episodes!!

EP. 1.2:
I wish the audio was better, like if you could use microphones it would be better I think. I don't like it when you don't look into the camera when you are having a conversation. I feel like I am a lurker who walked up to your pit and started eavesdropping. (being eye level might help. IDK. ???)
Wasn't quite sure why I was watching the dragster being loaded. Liked seeing you guys recieving the award and the end of day wrap up as the last shot.

EP. 2
Loved the tune up talk and Kevin showing us the log book. That was the hook for me. From then on, I became intellectually, mechanically, and emotionally invested. Loved the layout of the storyline. It flowed more naturally. I liked the on-screen graphics/transitions explaining what was going on or what the next scene was. Loved the resolution of the storyline by ending with a lighter note and the on-screen romance (tee-hee :p )

EP. 3.1
It was nice to have a beginning, middle, and end to the storyline. I knew where I was, what I was doing, what happened. It held me, then released me at the end. Loved the relaxing with the doggies.

EP. 3.2
Good evrathang. LOVED the in-car camera shots. Especially the launch. LOVED the slow motion showing what the car did.
Was nice to see a light hearted scene in between tense scenes to break up the tension. Enjoyed the physical chemistry/bonding between the two main protagonists. Liked very much the way you recounted the double bulbing issue you faced from the opponent (video of the incident with audio and cuts of you explaining it. I felt keyed up and on your side during that.

OK Kathy and Kevin.... I am hooked on your show now.

Thanks! :D and Ha! ;)

Might be a few before I can get to any more "shows". Lots of time on the road coming up and well, I have quite a few other "jobs" to keep up on in-between. Gotta keep the bills paid first! :)

Again...thanks to all for watching!!!!!!!!!
