When NHRA added that second Charlotte race, I had considered skipping Gainesville for Charlotte! BUT..................after testing airfares for those dates, unless they come WAYY down Charlotte is a No go! I can usually use a SW free ticket to Gainesville which normally is a $400 airfare, Charlotte however isn't a SW market, and American Airlines fares are as of now about $750!!! So looks like Charlotte will remain a Wet Dream!

Charlotte is a USAir hub, so you may be able to find a reasonable rate through them. Raleigh is a SW market, you could fly there and rent a car, straight shot down I-85 for about 2.5 hours ...

Joe there are so many different angles and areas for pics that you would have a charlotte. The walkway at the top of the bleachers would be your dream. We'd have to put you on roller skates though as you'd be back and forth on that so much.

You might consider a local travel agent next time, they'll save you time and all the hassle. They are experienced in getting you the flights you desire, for a small fee and do the looking for you.

Joe.. look at Greensboro NC also.. not sure who flys in there. but a buddy in AZ use to live in Concord.. he flys back home thru Greensboro once a month.. has a flight switch in Atlanta... then drives down 85 maybe hour and a half... i'll see who he flys with and the cost...
