(6-23-2007) TULSA, OK – The IHRA Skull Shine Sooner Nationals return to Tulsa, Oklahoma this weekend after rain storms postponed the elimination rounds of the event as it was originally scheduled. The make-up event promises to be quite interesting as teams will get a 2nd opportunity to race down the Tulsa Raceway Park quarter-mile, but there’s no room for error as the fields were set during the first go round and it’s strictly business on Saturday.
“Let’s try this again,” said veteran Pro Modified pilot, Danny Rowe. “We qualified well here last month and we’re confident that this new Tommy Mauney Camaro will be the car to beat on Saturday. Rector and crew have been working around the clock to get our equipment prepared for this coming weekend and hopefully, this will be our weekend.”
Despite qualifying well and going rounds at almost every race this season, Rowe and team are ready for their first big win of 2007 and Tulsa might just be the place for it. With his new sponsors Permatex and TORCO Race Fuels on board, Rowe is eager to put the Unfinished Business ’67 Chevy Camaro in the winner’s circle for his supporters.
