Lancaster race will decide 2006 PMRA Pro Modified victor
Three PMRA teams within 10 points going into final event

CAYUGA, ON (September 8, 2006) – There’s going to be a real gunfight in the final Pro Modified Racing Association (PMRA) event at Lancaster Raceway Park September 15 as Travel USA Central presents Pro Mod Shoot Out PMRA Challenge presented by G-Force Race Cars.

With his recent win at the Grand Bend Motorplex, Joe Boniferro climbed into top spot in the standings and is tied with Kasey Jansen for the final race of 2006.

Both Boniferro, of Niagara Falls , ON , and Jansen, of St. Catharines , have amassed 1440 points, while 2005 PMRA champion Joe Lilienthal of Kenmore , NY , is right behind with 1430 points.

The Jeep-bodied Pro Mod of Lilienthal failed to qualify due to mechanical problems at Grand Bend. The KC Motorsports Chevy Lumina of Janzen won the St. Thomas Pro Modified race, and the Smokin’ Joe’s 1999 Dodge Avenger of Boniferro lived up to its name winning in Grand Bend over the Labor Day weekend.

The Chevy Beretta of Sonny and Jack Grainy of North Tonawanda , NY , is next in order with 1320 points, and they are tied with the Rude Stude Racing team of Mark Mitchell of East Otto, NY.

Dave Earhart of Strathroy , ON , is next with his 2002 Camaro, followed by Mark Nielson of Brantford , ON with his 2000 Camaro. Terry Brown of Caledonia , ON , with the 1971 Dodge Challenger are next. The final two teams in the top ten are Bruce Boland of Hamilton , ON with his 1933 Willys, and the 1971 Vega of Rob Laperriere of Oshawa , ON .

Qualifying for the PMRA teams gets underway at 5:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. on the Buffalo-area eighth-mile strip, with final eliminations scheduled to begin at 8:30 p.m. for the quickest four cars.

The final Pro Modified Racing Association event, Travel USA Central presents Pro Mod Shoot Out PMRA Challenge presented by G-Force Race Cars will take place Friday, September 15 at Lancaster Raceway Park , just outside of Buffalo , in Clarence , New York.

Joining the PMRA Pro Modifieds will be the CAN-AM Stock/Super Stock Series. This popular grass-roots drag series that features competitors from Ontario , New York and Michigan , was formed in 1996, and continues to grow each season. The Pro Modified Racing Association, www.ProModifiedRacing.com, started late in 2004 and entering its second year of operation, the Pro Modified Racing Association ran five events in 2005 at four Ontario , Quebec , and New York locations.
