Just read over @ Comp Plus that Kenny Green passed. Another significant part of West Coast drag race history gone. Godspeed.

I remember when Kenny took over the management duties at OCIR and this kid named Randy Green would sit on the low wall in front of the tower and watch the races.

RIP, Kenny.

Kenny and I spent a lot of time together throught the early '80's as he was one of the original five people that were the core of the production staff of the Super Chevy Sunday events. We held the first in 1981 at OCIR and after that, he first worked as a free lancer...then a contract employee for Argus for a couple of years.

Invaluable for his knowledge and sign painting skills. Many a night, he was up till the wee hours painting signs.

Had not seen him in a number of years, particularly after he moved from SoCal.
While I was still going to the races frequently, would keep up with his status thru Randy.

Prior to his stint at OCIR...he worked for Steve Evans and Bill Doner at Irwindale.

Another good friend gone....kinda hammers home one's own mortality.

Rest in peace, my friend.
