Kenny Buzdas went into the nets today in TAD at Sonoma Divison 7 event.....car damaged but Kenny is ok. Hearing different stories on what happened...more to come.

The good news is that Kenny is fine. Racing TAD at Sonoma, Kenny's chutes did not come out. He got on the brakes and ended up going into the sand trap and net at an angle. Kenny is OK after being checked out by the emergency staff. The car is not doing so well. We are all very thankful.

On the bright side, Kenny ran a career best ET and MPH with a 5.614/254.95.

Glad to hear the young man seems to be well, I'm sure his grandfather Richard (R.I.P.) was watching out for him from above.

I know Kenny from facebook and then I fianlly met him last year at the NHRA MAC TOOLS US NATIONALS. What a remarkable young man. I could see the WANT & DRIVE in his eyes!!! I am so GLAD to hear that he is doing OK!!! Race cars are replaceable.......

Kenny is doing fine today. A bit of a sore back, and a sore calf muscle, but he is in good spirits.

He got a huge vote of confidence from team owner Jerry Brazil to return to the seat as soon as the car is fixed. Kenny was able to get the car shut off, (saving the motor from any damage) and slowed down to about 50 mph before entering the sand trap after sliding the rear tires in order to avoid hitting the net straight on. The front half of the car will need to be replaced, but the rest of the car (except of the rear wing which was damaged when the track crew was loading the car onto the flat bed) is ok. This was Kenny's FIRST full run in this car and drove very well according to all those who witnessed his pass.

Kenny is chomping at the bit to get back behind the wheel of Jerry and Betty's car as soon as possible.

Thank you everyone for thinking of my safety and well being. We're not entirely sure what caused the chutes not to deploy but we've determined that it was equipment error. The car has plans to go to the chassis shop before long and we would like to get back out on the track soon. With a little time and $$$ we'll be back and good to go. Unfortunately we had to experience such an incident our first race together but the team wants to continue and with me in the seat.
Thanks again everyone for their thoughts and notes. Updates will come. You can follow us on facebook at Kenny Buzdas | Facebook

I was there on the starting line. first pass of the day for the Dragsters, when I didnt see that chute come out, I said oh no, not again! But Kenny did a awesome job, very little bouncing. I was so happy when they announce Ken was out of the car. I Made it back to his pit and talk to several of his crew members ( great people!) didnt know which one was Kenny till Chris Demeke pointed him out for me.
