LAS VEGAS – For the third consecutive NHRA national event at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Kenny Bernstein has extended his team’s official hotel relationship with New York -New York Hotel & Casino.
“Our team looks forward to racing at Las Vegas in the spring and fall,” said six-time NHRA champion Bernstein. “Away from the racing action, our Budweiser/Lucas Oil and Monster Energy/Lucas Oil team members enjoy the restaurants, shows, and of course ‘The Roller Coaster’ in the Big Apple of Las Vegas.
“Our Dragster and Funny Car will showcase the New York - New York logo throughout the ACDelco Las Vegas Nationals Oct. 26-28, and we invite fans who may be planning to attend the race to book their rooms at our favorite Las Vegas hotel & casino.”
Kenny Bernstein, who retired at the end of the 2002 season, but drove the Budweiser/Lucas Oil Top Fuel dragster for a portion of 2003 while his son Brandon was recovering from racing injuries, has returned to competition this season as pilot of the Monster Energy/Lucas Oil Funny Car.
Brandon, who is one of four drivers battling for the Top Fuel championship, earned NHRA Rookie of the Year honors in 2003, and has had the most successful career launch of any other Top Fuel or Funny Car driver in NHRA history.
With two races remaining to determine the winner of this year’s championships, the ACDelco Las Vegas Nationals is a pivotal, high-profile event.
The Budweiser/Lucas Oil dragster began carrying the New York - New York logo at the ACDelco Las Vegas Nationals in 2006.
