Kalitta Motorsports to Host A Kid Again Families
At Select Races throughout 2021 NHRA Season
YPSILANTI, MI (February 25, 2021) --- During the 2021 NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series season, Kalitta Motorsports will be partnering with A Kid Again, a nonprofit organization fostering hope, happiness and healing for children facing life-threatening conditions and their families. Kalitta’s support will help A Kid Again further their mission of giving families the opportunity to take a time out from illness by attending ongoing Adventures together at NHRA races while they work through significant medical situations. The multi-time world championship team will also be supporting A Kid Again through social media promotions, branding on all three race cars and hosting familiesa the races during the race season.
“We were introduced to the folks at A Kid Again and immediately knew we should get involved with this organization,” said Kalitta Motorsports General Manager Chad Head. “NHRA is a family sport that is all about making memories and having an amazing experience. One of the things that drew us to A Kid Again was their mission of having entire families participate in events and experiences. This is a great organization and we are thrilled to partner with them.”
With the goal of providing year-round fun-filled Adventures that allow children with life-threatening conditions and their families to feel like “a kid again,” the organization works to create a communal and interactive environment offering comprehensive resources to help families cope with the extended effects of living through difficult medical journeys.
Since its founding in 1995, more than 55,000 families have been served through ongoing, nurturing experiences that complement but do not overtake their day-to-day living. The organization has grown to serve 15 markets, including six Chapters in Ohio, Indiana, Pennsylvania and South Carolina, and families served in markets throughout Michigan, Maryland, West Virginia, Illinois, Alabama, New York, Washington, D.C., Kentucky, New Jersey and Delaware.
“We want to thank everyone at Kalitta Motorsports for advancing our mission to give every child facing illness the chance to be A Kid Again and providing our families some amazing experiences in 2021,” said A Kid Again President and CEO Oyauma Garrison. “We have already seen a lot of interest from our families about coming to NHRA races and spending time with Team Kalitta, their drivers and crew members. We can’t wait to see the smiles, joy and lifelong memories that our families will experience thanks to Kalitta Motorsports and the future NHRA experiences.”
Kalitta Motorsports recently hosted the Kaczur family at their race shop before the team left for Florida where they will be testing during the PRO Winter Warmup test session at Palm Beach International Raceway the weekend of March 5-7.
"We would like to thank everyone at Kalitta Motorsports and A Kid Again for not just giving Lena an amazing experience, but our whole family," said parents Amanda and Billy Kaczur. "Seeing Lena and Stana get up close to the race cars and get to talk with the drivers was a memory I know we will all cherish."
