TORKELSON MOTORSPORTS STRIVING FOR EVENT WIN
Jim Wiens Working for a Strong Finish to 2007

TULSA, OK (October 12, 2007) – With only two races left in Super Chevy Show, Aeromotive Fuel Systems Nitro Coupe Racing, Jim Wiens and Torkelson Motorsports is seeking to end the year on a high note. Sill striving for their first event win together as a team, both Wiens and Torkelson know what must be done this weekend in Tulsa .

“We had another good weekend last week in San Antonio ,” said Wiens. “We again qualified No. 3, and again went to the semi-final round. We are showing a lot of consistency right now, so the plan is to step things up a bit more. We know we can go much quicker, and we have the power, now it’s up to us to make that happen. With Tulsa this weekend, I know the competition will be tough. We are going up against guys like Barklage, Tony Williams, and Willie Brainerd, but we are just as good as they are. We have a good car, and Wayne [Torkelson] has worked hard this week getting things ready. The car performed well last weekend, but now we want to go further this weekend. We are hungry for a final round appearance and event win.”

Since the complete departure of Wayne Torkelson, Jr. form the team earlier in the season, Wiens has worked diligently with Wayne Torkelson, Sr to step-up their race program. Going faster, racing more consistent and winning rounds is now the name of their game. With only two races left in the season, it is the goal of the whole team to still have an event win this year, and to finish as strong as possible.

Wiens went on to say, “We really are working hard. Wayne and Barbara Torkelson love being out here, and I’m proud to be involved with such a great operation. They have been well-known within the Drag Racing community for many years. We all have worked very hard to be where we are, and I think it’s all starting to pay off. We are working hard to finish well this season, as well as prepare for next season.”

Torkelson Motorsports would like to thank Redline Oil, Super Chevy Show, Aeromotive Fuel Systems and Jim Wiens Race Cars for their continued support.
