JEGS continues to grow with the NHRA

1/15/2007 - DELAWARE, OHIO (Jan. 15) -- JEGS Automotive Inc, an industry leader in the high-performance mail-order parts business, has extended its sponsorship of the JEGS Super Quick Series through 2008 and will be
sponsoring a special JEGS Showdown as part of the NHRA North Central Division's new Top Dragster class this year.

"My brothers and I, along with many of our associates at JEGS, enjoy this type of bracket racing very much," JEGS vice president John Coughlin said. "We've sponsored the JEGS Super Quick Series for a decade and have enjoyed our relationship with NHRA's Division 3 a great deal. They put on great races and we're proud to be a part of it moving forward. Drag racing is an important part of our business and one that our entire organization is passionate about. It's an exciting time in our sport and we are happy to continue to grow with the NHRA."

Now in its 19th year, the 2007 JEGS Super Quick Series will feature a nine-race circuit of events with a Quick 32 format on an eighth-mile drag strip. Typical performances are in the 4.5- to 4.8-second range
with top speeds over 150 miles per hour. The most consistent and successful racer in the series is crowned the JEGS Super Quick Champion.

The Top Dragster class is a newly recognized sportsman category that will be run in all seven NHRA geographic divisions beginning in 2007. The Top Dragster JEGS Showdown will be one of the features of the NHRA JEGS Northern SPORTSnationals, Sept. 28-30 at National Trail Raceway in Columbus, Ohio.

"We're always looking at ways we can make the sport of drag racing better because the sport has been so good to our family over the years," Coughlin said. "By lending our name to a series like the JEGS Super
Quick Series and sponsoring this special event in the new Top Dragster class, we're furthering our involvement with the racers and fans.

"It's important that racers in these categories are rewarded properly for their hard work and expertise and by sponsoring the class and being a part of the reward system, we're putting our funding in the hands of the right people -- the men and women out there racing every weekend. We're excited about this new two-year extension and we look forward to some great racing this year."
