GRAND BEND, ONTARIO (August 24, 2011) – Eric Latino will be going for his second win this season in Pro Modified Racing Association competition as a finalist in the postponed fourth round of PMRA racing.

But Latino, of Whitby, Ontario, will be facing Jeff Roth of New Dundee, Ontario in the rescheduled final, which was cancelled due to rain at the recent Stratford Spectacular Hot August Nationals held August 4-7 at the Grand Bend Motorplex.

The final pairing will determine the winner of this fourth race on the six-race PMRA tour for 2011. It will be held during the September 2-4 running of the “Thunder by the Beach” event at Grand Bend. After this race is completed, the PMRA will continue with its next round of drag racing action over the Labor Day weekend.

Latino, who has one victory to his credit in 2011, eliminated number eight qualifier Ike Maier of Tottenham, Ontario and Mark Nielsen of Brantford, Ontario, who qualified fifth, to get to the final.

Roth eliminated the last PMRA winner, 1969 Camaro driver and number six qualifier Kenny Lang of Grande Pointe, Manitoba, and Vito Montesano of Maple, Ontario and his 1968 Camaro, who qualified seventh.

Leading the PMRA 2011 Championship Point Award Series presented by Magnum Auto Parts and Patio Passport at present is Montesano, with 1047 points. Tied for second are Latino and three-time PMRA champion Bruce Boland of Hamilton, Ontario, with 1034 points each. Next is Roth with 1022 points, and Nielsen is fifth with 1004 points.
