<br> <font color="Navy"> "It's do or die time," Hernandez said. "With only a small buffer and eight rounds of racing remaining, this deal is going to go down to the wire."</font>
<P> (10-9-08) It's make or break time for Team Rage driver Josh Hernandez as he heads into second-to-last JEGS ProMod Challenge even at this weekend's Virginia NHRA Nationals. Leading the Championship race by 59 points, the chase is far from a done deal, and the defending champ is ready to clinch the deal. "It's do or die time," Hernandez said. "With only a small buffer and eight rounds of racing remaining, this deal is going to go down to the wire.
"It's exciting and nerve-racking at the same time. With the size of the target we have on our back right now we can't afford to bobble even one round. It's a good thing I've got Jim and Dave Oddy, Troy Critchley and the boys in my corner or I might be nervous," he laughed.
Hernandez is coming off a huge win in Dallas, his third of the year, blasting every round with consistent high-five/low-six-second passes every time down the track. He has qualified at every Pro Mod Challenge he has ever entered, and is definitely the favorite to take the championship again. "It's taken the mammoth support of Interlinc Mortgage, Team Rage Racing and Red Line Oil to get us where we are, and I can't thank them enough for getting us to this point all over again," Hernandez said.
"We've had good success qualifying at this track, and the weather looks like it's going to be great, so I think we're in a great position to take another step forward toward our goal of back-to-back championships. Nevertheless, it's still one lap at a time, running our race, and doing what we know how to do. It will definitely be an exciting weekend setting up the finals in Las Vegas," he said.
Team Rage would also like to thanks its corporate Sponsors who make our success possible- NGK Spark Plugs, Redline Oil, Permatex, Hoosier Tires, Richmond Gears, Mechanix Wear, Interlinc Mortgage, VP Racing Fuels & Safety Kleen.
