Courtney Enders did a bit on Floracing about this a year or so ago that included a bit on the cannabis branch of Elite.

Investigated farming of hemp on the family farm for uses outside of medicinal; turns out the fibers make great things like fabric and rope, to name a few, and are almost carbon fiber level tough when used to make items when bonded with epoxy resin. I wonder if that is also a weight savings?
Yeah hemp and weed are two different things. Hemp has a very, very small percentage of cannabis, such that you aren't going to get anything from smoking it.
Hemp had a very good business in this country for a couple hundred years, due to it's many uses (George Washington farmed it). However, basically, when DuPont got big into synthetic frabrics, they backed the hemp "scare" which essentially banned hemp (having stigmatized it as the same as marihuana) in a 1937 law. Only by 2018 was it "legal" again, so to speak.

ok. this thread has comical possibilities. think cheech & chong movie with pot van smoking going down the road.
now think hemp/epoxy funny car body. engine blows. body starts to smoke. rolls all the way into turn 1 of BIR. 1/2 the zoo shows up.
...... or remember when brut came back w/capps? they put brut in headers prior to startup and everyone got brief blast. if you could somehow
put a hemp/pot scent in the headers, or inject it when you wack the throttle. you could have the entire pit area at YOUR car when you warm up.

Porsche has used hemp fiber like carbon fiber for some car parts over the years, I think they did a hood and some other front end parts.

It didn't shine a good light on 3 Top Fuel racers here in the Northwest. I remember when all of that went down, like it was yesterday.
The 1980s here in the Northwest was a wild time (and fun...Yikes)

Yes, several drag racing teams. Steve Evans, Jerry Ruth, Northwind, NW Pro Stock teams, even famous Crew Chiefs are all mentioned in the book. Not necessarily proven guilty, but some were. Written by the detective.

Speaking of hemp production, 5 miles from me lies the largest hemp processing facility in the western hemisphere, Panda. Has nothing to do with what Elite is doing.
Cannibis is medically legal in Oklahoma, not recreationally legal like Colorado. Indeed, we're all aware of the loopholes. But the pot farm permits exploded to over 7,000 at one time which resulted in so much overproduction nobody was making any money. The state got involved and now that's been whittled down to about half of what it was.
Elite Cultivation and Processing isn't a hobby but rather a large, state-of-the-art operation supplying cannabis oil and related marijuana products to licensed OK dealers for medical use only, of course,
, not direct to the public. What they are doing is legal; whether one approves or not is up to the individual.

I remember when Capps did that with Brut, I liked it.
Speaking of Cheech & Chong, you might also see a bunch of vans pulling into the parking lot and then opening the door with smoke rolling out, like Spicoli's in Ridgemont High.
