(9-2-2007) NORWALK, OH - The Suzuki Motor City Nationals event has been rescheduled for September 21-23, 2007. Information pertaining to the new weekend is as follows:
* All spectator single day and weekend spectator tickets will be honored for the September weekend. If you have a Friday or Sunday single day spectator ticket and wish to come on Saturday in September, the full ticket value will be applied towards the purchase of a Saturday single day spectator ticket. You must bring back your ticket in September in order to return at no charge.
* All Car & Driver AND crew that are planning on returning in September must return with their wristbands in order to not be charged again. Your wristband is your receipt from the original weekend. Your old wristbands will be exchanged at credentials upon your return.
* All sportsman classes (except for Box ET and No Box ET) are closed to new entries based on qualifying being completed. Box ET and No Box ET are still open fields.
* All professional fields are still open to new competitors because no qualifying had taken place.
* All sportsman runs made prior to eliminations during the new date in September will be "time runs". Official qualifying for sportsman has been completed.
* All elimination rounds completed in Hot Rod, Stock and Super Rod stand. When sportsman eliminations continue in September, they will begin with the continuation of Round 1 of Super Rod, which is where the event ended.
* Transfers - For the competitors in Hot Rod, Stock and Super Rod who have won 1st round: Your event has begun and transferring out at this point is not an option. If you do not return, you will be paid round money for your first round win and receive the appropriate points as having lost second round.
* Transfers - For the competitors in Super Rod, Super Stock, Quick Rod, Top Sportsman and Top Dragster who have not run first round of eliminations: Those who can not return to the rescheduled date may transfer out of the race following the process outlined on page 141 of the 2007 IHRA Rulebook.
* IHRA asks that all transfer requests be submitted by September 21. This will give IHRA time to process all paperwork and provide you with up-to-date point totals prior to the Torco President's Cup Nationals in Maryland.
* Top Sportsman, Top Dragster, & Super Stock Ladders: The field is closed to new entries but the field size and subsequent eliminations ladder will be determined by the number of returning cars as outlined on page 140 of the 2007 IHRA rulebook. Also per page 140, Super Stock 1st round pairings will be random and first round times will determine subsequent pairings.
