If they keep the same management in place you will be able to say 'Same clowns, different circus." :D

I'm interested in hearing their plans.....

Maybe they are getting closer to the Next Level:

"With the addition of Motor Sports, Feld Entertainment can now offer families everywhere an even wider range of live family entertainment options. The edge-of-the-seat excitement of all the Motor Sports events appeals to families in the US and around the world. We plan to take Monster Jam and all the Motor Sports spectaculars to more domestic and international markets than ever before."

From looking at tha IHRA site and some other places, it appears that Feld must have wanted the Monster Trucks, and got the IHRA by default. I hope not, but I'm just saying.

I have a feeling this is "the end of the world as we know it" Sorry, but I can't see much good coming from a family entertainment group. The IHRA could become the WWE of racing. .....And that's NOT a good thing Bozo!

I'm actualy with you on this Darr... the thing that has always appealed ot me about the IHRA compared to the NHRA is it comes off as more of a working mans Drag Series...... 90% of all the racers are working class people.. and that relates to its fan base...

I always explained the IHRA to friends as being what the NASCAR BUSCH Grandnational Series was in the early to late 80's.. Guy next door or down the street builds a car goes races does good.. and all his neighbors come hang out and root for him and follow him across country at times...

I know alot of people will argue with me on this but.. i don't get the same feeling at an NHRA event that i do at the IHRA.... i enjoy the NHRA's racing..but the atmosphere just doesn't sit with me the same.

Kind of like some people prefer the Big amusement parks... some prefer the County and State Fairs... I'm a County Fair type guy...

I don't believe the IHRA was used for its potential by the LIVENATION company... i believe they realy missed out on what could have been...actualy.. i don't think they understood the Sport of drag racing and how to manage it.. or how to allow it to be managed.

So you would like to see a paid group of a few core teams come in for the sole purpose of putting on a show? No real winner, no real championship, no real racing. Just alot of smoke and nitro feel good entertainment.

The Monster Truck people must have it all wrong. They pack the stadiums they run at, the people running the trucks are doing what they love doing, running a blown alcohol monster truck, the promoters are happy because they are making money, and the fans must be really happy because they keep coming back.

More and more tracks are experiencing bigger crowds and car counts at test and tune nights than they are on bracket racing nights. Why? There isn't any true racing, no real winners, no championships, no payouts, but the teams are happier, the fans are happier, the promoter is happier. Why?

E-Town continually packs the house (over 25,000 fans) for a Wednesday night 3 hour show. Why? There is a professional fuel 2 car match race, a sportsman type match race, Monster Trucks and Robosauras. Did the fans come to see true racing? a real winner? Points towards a championship? Big pay outs? Or did they come to be entertained for a few hours?

Professional drag racing is about to change in the way it is presented to the public in both sanctioning bodies. This sale might speed up the change in IHRA. Then again...............

Jack did we miss an annoucenemt?...Just asking... becasue i don't remember them anouncing a change in the IHRA yet,..

Feld Entertainment just bought them.. thats all we know....

if you talk to anyone that works for Nascar they tell you they are a family entertainment spot.... A company that is the entertainment busines like Feld Ent. ...to me is a perfect fit to head the IHRA.... they know that you have to have a product them makes people want to come out and pay their hard earned dollars they know that the Drag teams of all level, Pro or Sportsman are the product of this form of entertainment.... im' sure they more than anyone realise what they are competeing against for those entertainment dollars.... they have produced profitable packages before against those obsticles... so we can only assume that they hope to have the same return on all the former Livenation Motorsports programs...

Yo, Darr!

Just a FYI for you, buddy.

I saw Zak's name in the credits of a TLC Show about building big stuff. Forgot the name of the show, but Zak was listed as the Art Director.

It pays to read TV credits!

From that interview.. i got that he doesn't realy understand any of the new motorsports areas he just bought....but.. he is excited from the first views he has had.. and is wanting to learn more... no real commint on the IHRA seems he hasn't realy experianced it... but hopefully when he does.. it will make a great impression on him.. and he will see the potential of the IHRA if marketed to its full potential....

Personaly.. i think the only thing missing form the IHRA that limits growth is a better tv package.... take all the motorsports programs and shop them to another network for better viewership.... which would help open doors for larger sponsrship packages....
