Well I haven't seen any comments here..... This was my first time at HPT... quite an impressive auto racing facility! With the rain on Friday and the week before though - parking (in anything that wasn't an SUV) looked pretty nasty.
I saw a few cars bottomed out in mud. Is there always no parking fees there? That's kind of cool. Aside from the pro pits being at the finish line with a long tow time to the tower... I like HPT - and will be back.:)

It was somewhat muddy everywhere, but worse where the big tire guys decided to show off or have some contests. Glad to hear your 1st HPT experience was favorable. The place is huge (they paved 23 acres of additional pit space just last year). I like Heartland Park, and the community supports the facility.

Check the finish line pits at Bandimere next month Chris. You will find Pro Stock and Pro Stock Bike there.....

I went to HPT the 2 years they ran night races, but that has to be the Least Fan friendly track on the Tour! You'll do more walking in one day there than an entire weekend anywhere else.

I too made my first treck to Topeka from Colorado. The facility was impressive, although spread out, but there's nothing wrong with a little walking:cool:Will definitely come back

I guess you're right - as is the case probably at most tracks. My trouble is I usually don't get much farther than Kalitta row anymore.

If I remember correctly, willcall is on one side of the facility (country) and VIP credentials are on the other. I ALWAYS go to the wrong place first, :mad:and no place punishes you more for that mistake!!:D

Lets see, Hot car pits at OCIR were pass the finish line normally, for The MFG Meet, they used the "bracket/class car" pits behind the grand stand. back straight at Riverside was the "drag strip"...

I was really impressed, or is that depressed, at Richmond last year.... not only a 4x4 induced mud bogg the first weekend... but it's up hill to get to the tarmac...
