Hey, that's not Ron Capps!
Talk about teamwork!

CARLSBAD, Calif. (June 16, 2008) - While Michael Waltrip is battling it out with 42 other NASCAR drivers nearly every weekend in the NAPA AUTO PARTS Toyota, his NAPA teammate Ron Capps is vying for a win against his opponents side-by-side down the quarter-mile of an NHRA event, driving the NAPA AUTO PARTS Dodge.

Last Saturday, Waltrip showed his support of his "little buddy" (Waltrip is 6'5", Capps is 5'8") by sporting Capps' NAPA tee shirt and cap at the NASCAR event at Michigan International Speedway.

The two are becoming famous for their creative and funny NAPA commercials which have been airing during both NASCAR and NHRA events.

Waltrip picked up the shirt at the Employee Appreciation Day at NAPA headquarters recently and is also known to occasionally wear an autographed Ron Capps NAPA hat that he obtained at another NAPA event.

"Anybody who knows Michael Waltrip knows how funny he is to be around," said Capps. "Someone told me he'd been wearing the cap and shirt and they saw it on the NASCAR telecast.

"It's cool that when he got ready to put his firesuit on and he had a choice of wearing what he wanted underneath it that he put the Ron Capps NAPA shirt on. It's neat to know he cares about what we're doing over here in NHRA that he'd take the time to do that.

"We have a great time when we're together. We're sort of the odd couple because he's so tall, and that's half the reason the commercials are so funny, I think. I also know how much of a strong competitor Michael is. So anytime I see a driver of his caliber wearing one of our shirts, it makes me feel good."

Capps is preparing for the 11th race of the 24-event 2008 NHRA season this weekend, at the NHRA SuperNationals at the famed Old Bridge Township Raceway Park in Englishtown, N.J.
