The blown alcohol Knoll Gas - Torco Racing Fuels Top Alcohol Dragster Team made their first final round appearance in Norwalk, Ohio at Summit Racing Equipment Motorsports Park this past weekend. Driver, Dave Hedges and the Team qualified #7 in the 8 car field with a 5.59 at 247 MPH and earned their spot in the final by running consistently well throughout the day.
"We are thrilled with the way this weekend turned out for our Team. We have really been working hard to improve the performance of this car and
it all seems to be paying off for us. I feel like this car is starting to come around and I am really excited to see how far we will be able to go from here," said crew chief Brian Pfeifer.
In the first round, Hedges recorded his best run of the weekend, 5.51 at
250 MPH, to earn the great hole shot win over his opponent. He continued to run well in the second round when he crossed the finish line with a 5.57 second run down the quarter mile for the win light. In the final round the Team put up another consistent run, 5.56, but they were unable to get the win despite about a tenth of a second advantage off the starting line.
"This was a great weekend! We ran well and got to our first final round
ever in a Lucas Oil Series event. My guys work so hard every weekend and it is great to be able to share some success with them. We can't thank Evan and the great people at Knoll Gas - Torco Racing Fuels enough for their support. Hopefully, this is just the first of many good weekends for our Team," remarked Hedges.
For their next event the Team will head to the Torco Racing Fuels Route 66 NHRA Nationals in Joliet, Illinois June 7th thru the 10th.
