The Knoll Gas – Torco Racing Fuels Top Alcohol Dragster driven by Dave Hedges is in the midst of their best season yet and they are hoping to continue their run this weekend at the Torco Racing Fuels Nationals. The Team qualified number one at the Valdosta Divisional event and earned a runner-up finish at their last event, the Division 3 opener in Norwalk , Ohio .
“We have really been making strides this year. The car is starting to respond to the changes we make and we are excited to see what we can accomplish at the Torco Racing Fuels Nationals this weekend. With a strong field, which includes 6 of our Torco teammates, we will have our work cut out for us. I believe this Team is up to the challenge,” said crew chief Brian Pfeifer.
Last weekend, Hedges and the Team were in Michigan where they were trying to get the car ready for this week’s event but the rain came in and spoiled their plans. This weekend, the Decatur , Michigan based Team will make the short trip over to Joliet , Illinois for their sponsor’s race in hopes of bringing home that elusive Torco Racing Fuels Wally.
“I am having so much fun driving this car, especially this year! We have only been to two events and we have already made it to one final round. My Team works really hard to give me a good car every time I go up to the line. I am thankful for everything they do and to Evan for giving me the opportunity to drive this car. Hopefully, this weekend we will make him proud,” said Hedges.
Qualifying for the event will be on Friday at 2 PM and 5:30 PM. They will get their last chance to make the 16 car field on Saturday at 9 AM. First round of eliminations will be held on Sunday morning and continue throughout the afternoon.
